Lena Stone brings us the debut of “Lightweight,” the 3rd single in a journey of an established Country act returning to her pop roots.
“Lightweight is one of the first songs I wrote for my pop project and it just felt like exactly the sound I wanted for this new music. It’s cinematic and emotional, and the lyrics are so vulnerable which I’m really proud of. Falling in love is exhilarating and scary and feels like a night you’ve had one too many, and that’s what I wanted this song to capture.”
“In so many ways, pop makes more sense for me. I wasn’t raised on country music - I found country music,” Stone explains of her previous tenor in the genre. “Pop has always come so naturally to me. I grew up listening to James Taylor, Sarah Bareilles, John Mayer, Pink, and Britney Spears.”
“Lightweight” produced by Phil Barnes, signifies an epic new era for the Nashville artist. And will be just one piece of a highly anticipated full-length record slated for release Fall 2021.
