Nashville-based pop artist, LVRBOY just released his debut album “Replacing You”. Describing his sound as “music for people who over-romanticize every goddamn thing”, the album spans eight vibey tracks, sure to get you in your feels (and maybe cry a little).
We got a quick Q+A with LVRBOY to get the low down on the brand new project. Check it out below:
1. “Replacing You” is your first official album as LVRBOY. Tell us a bit about the backstory, the inspo and who you created it with:
“Replacing You” - the album is a collection of songs I’ve been trickling out as singles since my debut EP release in May 2020. This album, unlike the first EP, features a larger number of collaborators. My reasoning for that was with the first EP, I really wanted control over my sound and the first impression this project would make on listeners. With this album, I began not only trusting myself more as an artist but stepping a bit outside of the usual suspects that help me make my records (but not THAT far outside).
We began writing this record in March right as corona hit. My first EP was done and I knew I was going to want as little downtime as possible between releases, so we just kept going. I wrote a majority of the songs with my best friend and closest collaborator, STRUAN and while some were produced by Garrett Miller (the producer of my first EP, ghost in my room), you’ll also find songwriters and producers Asher Postman and Nicholas Sainato (Nightly). The album also features my duet with Leah Sykes, “All My Friends Are Sad,” which landed on some rad Spotify Editorials. We wrote and recorded A LOT during quarantine, and this record is a step closer to me sharing way more music with you.
2. What’s your favorite track off the record and why?
I think my favorite track would have to be “Hoodie Weather” because I remember writing that song thinking “this is so different from anything I’ve done so far and yet, it still sounds like me.” It just felt like a defining moment for me as an artist.

5. Are you gonna piss off any exes with any of the tracks on this album?
Always. Hahaha! Nah there is a lot less “calling out” being done on this record. Except for “CRYING ON THE PHONE,” but we buried that hatchet before I released it as a single back in July.
6. Tell us a little about being an artist and releasing an album during covid. How has this affected your vision and process?
This year has definitely had its ups and downs. I had a number of tours booked, plans for more tours, etc, and that all got canceled. Where I know that deterred a lot of artists from being creative, I know a lot of them that redirected their efforts. For me, it was just a really creative time and I wrote and recorded a ton of music that wouldn’t have happened otherwise. And while this year has done a lot of damage in many ways, I really came into my own as an artist this year.
