Q+A

You just released a new single called “Tie Dye” - tell us a bit about that.
My new single is called “Tie Dye” and I wrote it with Tori Tullier and Joe Fox. Alex Torrez, David Dorn and Joe Fox produced it. The message of the song was important to me the day we wrote it and even more so today—it’s all about self-love and having pride in who you are!

You’re working with a great team of which includes grammy-winning Liz Rose. Talk about the importance of finding the right team.
I met Liz when I was 15 years old, and she’s helped me build my team one person at a time since then, over the years. I think it’s so important for everyone on your team to be as passionate about the music as you are.

You have worked with hit writers such as Eric Paslay and Phil Barton, who are some of your favorite collaborators in town?
I love writing with my friends! Tori Tullier, Emily Landis, and Olivia Rudeen are some of my favorite people to collaborate with because they know me better than most people.

You’re a Texas native. Any Texas artist everyone needs to watch?
Triston Marez is awesome, definitely check him out!

Volunteering, specifically helping the homeless, is important to you - any great suggestions on local places to volunteer?
My favorite place to volunteer in Nashville is Safe Haven Family Shelter, it’s a homeless shelter in town where the whole family gets to stay together and I think that’s super important.

What’s your go-to quarantine drink?
Tito’s, White Claw, or Best Maid Sour Pickle Beer!

What can we expect from Alyssa Micaela in the future?
I’m about to go into the studio at the end of the month to finish recording my EP and I’m so excited! And of course, I can't wait to get back out on the road as soon as I can!
