“A few months back, one of my sister’s friends took his own life. The next day, a girl I was seeing was on the phone with a friend who was sad about a guy and said, “all my friends are sad,” and frowned at me. I was struggling myself with a few different things at the time and, after she said that, I immediately began writing it. The next day, Leah and I finished it.
The whole song is based on the idea that we didn’t have a care in the world as kids and our parents always told us everything would be alright when, in fact, a lot of people are not okay right now. Would love to do something together on this. This song is super special to me.”
