TALK ABOUT THE NEW TRACK “KISSING ON YOUR DAD.”
“Kissing on Your Dad” is an anthem for dad lovers everywhere. Do you like men who can provide you with emotional and financial stability? Did you ever wish Stacey’s Mom was about a dude? Well my sweet baby angel this song is for you. I co-wrote it with JBach and Christian Fiore right before the pandemic hit. The animated video was a collaboration with Patrick Naughter.
WAS IT WRITTEN ABOUT ANYBODY IN PARTICULAR?
Haha no. It’s more of an ode to the archetypical, mythologized dad who is hot, financially stable, emotionally with it, and cool as hell.

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR DAD IS GONNA FEEL ABOUT THIS TRACK?
Hahaha I’m choosing to imagine a reality in which my dad never hears this track.
YOU’VE RECENTLY MOVED TO LA VIA NASHVILLE. TALK ABOUT CREATING IN LOS ANGELES DURING COVID.
The transition has honestly been fire. I think creatives get caught up in the 9-to-5 grind of late capitalist culture which causes us to create hundreds of songs that will never see the light of day. When my writing and touring schedule got derailed, I refocused my creative energy towards projects that will actually produce revenue. I wrapped a sync project with two writers from Pulse, wrote a Christmas sync project with a writer from Big Deal, executive produced an album for an artist named Zolita coming out this fall, and wrote more intentionally for my own album. I've been able to do all those things over Facetime. I’ve learned that I, as the songwriter, can drive a whole project forward. That’s something I’ll continue to do even when quarantine ends.

JBach, Jordy, Zolita, Abby Anderson, Jenny Owen Youngs, Christian Fiore, and Dillon Deskin are the hotties of my life.
WHAT ARE YOU FAVORITE QUARANTINE JAMS
I’ve been an album listener during quarantine. HAIM’s “Women In Music Part III”, Chloe x Halle’s “Ungodly Hour”, Remi Wolf’s “You’re A Dog!” - EP, and Mahalia’s “Isolation Tapes” have been replayed endlessly.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR MYYLO?
I’m working on an album these days! I have three songs finished and a tight knit group of collaborators. We’ll likely be doing virtual writes and, if Covid permits, spending a weekend or two writing in the desert.
