TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT SINGLE, “BEFORE YOU” AND WHO YOU WROTE IT WITH
I wrote “Before You” with my buddies LoCash. The song is based off what my life was like before my now fiancé Katie.
WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE COLLABORATORS IN NASHVILLE?
I love writing with my buddies LoCash. I also have been writing a lot with my buddy Michael Tyler. My first record I wrote 6 songs with Tim Nichols and too this day he is still one of my favorite writers in town.
FAITH IS AN IMPORTANT THEME IN YOUR MUSIC - HOW DO YOU BALANCE THAT?
My faith is my rock solid foundation in my career. Whenever I’m stressed or at a low spot I always know I have a purpose and god’s calling to do. Music isn’t everything in this world. It’s about how many souls am I gonna get to heaven with me one day.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE POSITIVE THINGS YOU’RE SEEING FROM THE PANDEMIC?
I feel like the music community is finding ways to still come together through all this craziness. So many live streams and people are getting creative to get their music and shows to fans. I love seeing it.
ANYTHING YOU’RE BINGING ON NETFLIX RIGHT NOW?
I’m in the middle of watching Money Heist right now. I’d highly recommend it.
HOW ARE YOU ENJOYING QUARANTINE WITH YOUR FIANCE? IS THERE ANYTHING YOU’RE LEARNING OR DOING TOGETHER?
Our wedding plans are coming along very slowly lol. We don’t know how we want to do it. And we have been planting a garden together so that’s been nice. We have more time together than we ever have and we’re really enjoying it.
IS THERE AN ARTIST WHO’S CAREER PATH YOU ADMIRE AND WHY?
I really admire Eric Church’s career and just how he always stays true to his sound.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD RIGHT NOW, AND WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
I’m really looking forward to getting back out on the road. I miss seeing the fans and playing shows. I’m hoping to put some more music out this year, so be on the lookout ;)
